Tour Overview

Embark on a mesmerizing journey into the "Land of the Dawn-Lit Mountains" with our highly curated Arunachal Pradesh Scenic Tour Package (06 Nights / 07 Days). Designed by The Holiday Trips' Northeast travel experts, this expedition takes you through the untouched and dramatically beautiful landscapes of Western Arunachal Pradesh.

Your journey begins in Guwahati, Assam, from where you will drive towards the foothills of the Himalayas, entering Arunachal at Bhalukpong. As you ascend, the terrain transforms, taking you to the picturesque apple orchards of Dirang, and across the spectacular, snow-draped Sela Pass (13,700 ft). You will pay your respects at the Jaswant Garh War Memorial before reaching the spiritual and historic town of Tawang.

During your extensive three-night stay in Tawang, you will explore the 400-year-old Tawang Monastery (the largest in India). A major highlight is the exhilarating drive to Bumla Pass at the Indo-China border and the breathtaking Sangestar Tso (Madhuri Lake). Navigating this remote terrain requires specialized local knowledge and strict adherence to military regulations. We seamlessly handle all mandatory Inner Line Permits (ILP) and secure expert local vehicles for Bumla Pass, ensuring your adventure is completely safe, compliant, and unforgettable.

Entry to Arunachal Pradesh is strictly regulated. Our package includes 100% hassle-free processing of your Inner Line Permit (ILP). Furthermore, reaching the high-altitude Bumla Pass requires a special military permit and an authorized local union vehicle, both of which our on-ground team manages perfectly for your safety and peace of mind.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, an Inner Line Permit (ILP) is an official travel document issued by the Government of India that is strictly mandatory for Indian citizens from other states to enter Arunachal Pradesh. You do not need to worry, as our team will process the ILP for you in advance. We will simply need your ID proofs and passport-size photographs.

Bumla Pass is a highly sensitive military area near the Indo-China border. Standard tourist vehicles from Assam/Guwahati are not permitted by the local taxi syndicate to travel on that rugged terrain. You must hire a specific local Tawang union taxi (usually a Sumo or Bolero) for this day trip. We will arrange the vehicle and military permits for you, but the taxi fare is usually paid directly.

The best time to visit Tawang is during the pre-monsoon spring (March to May) when the valleys are lush green and blooming, or during autumn (September to November) for clear blue skies and pleasant weather. Heavy monsoons (July-August) are avoided due to landslides, and peak winter (Jan-Feb) can lead to roadblocks at Sela Pass due to heavy snow.

Tawang is situated at 10,000 ft, which is usually fine for most travelers. You will be acclimatizing in Dirang (4,900 ft) beforehand. However, Sela Pass (13,700 ft) and Bumla Pass (15,200 ft) are very high. It is advisable to stay hydrated, avoid heavy physical exertion at these passes, and consult a doctor if you have cardiac or respiratory issues.

Arunachal Pradesh is still a developing tourist destination. While you will find very comfortable, clean, and premium 3-star and 4-star boutique hotels with excellent hospitality, large 5-star international luxury resorts are currently not available in these remote mountain areas.
