Welcome to the spiritual heartland of the Himalayas! Upon your arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be warmly received by your dedicated cultural guide. We begin your journey with a scenic 1.5-hour drive to the capital city, Thimphu. After checking into your hotel, we will visit the impressive fortress that houses the throne room. Spend the evening soaking in the peaceful vibes of Thimphu town. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Begin your morning with blessings at the massive Buddha Dordenma, overlooking the Thimphu valley. Spend your afternoon at the festival grounds (courtyard of Paro Dzong), watching monks and laymen perform sacred mask dances in vibrant costumes, deeply rooted in Bhutanese mythology. Today is the spiritual climax of your journey. After an early breakfast, we drive to the base of the mountain to commence a holy pilgrimage up to Taktsang Monastery, widely revered as the Tiger’s Nest. Clinging to a sheer cliff 900 meters above the valley, this is where Guru Rinpoche mediated in the 8th century. The hike is rigorous but deeply rewarding for the soul. Return to Paro in the late afternoon to rest or wander the local markets. Overnight stay in Paro.

Yes. When visiting Dzongs and festival grounds, dress modestly (long pants, skirts below the knee, covered shoulders). Formal or semi-formal attire is respected. Hats and caps must be removed inside religious premises.

The hike is considered moderate to strenuous. However, climbing at your own pace makes it manageable for most fitness levels. Ponies can be hired for the first half of the ascent if needed, and it is a must-do experience.
