Handcrafted by The Holiday Trips' certified Bhutanese travel experts, this short yet incredibly immersive itinerary is perfect for travelers looking to experience Bhutan's pristine nature and secluded heritage away from typical tourist crowds.

Your journey begins upon arrival in Paro, from where you will immediately embark on a breathtaking drive over the Chele La Pass (3,988 meters), the highest motorable road in Bhutan. Descending into the deeply traditional and forested Haa Valley—opened to foreign tourism only recently in 2002—you will spend the night surrounded by alpine tranquility and ancient legends.

On the following day, you will explore Haa's famous White and Black temples before returning to Paro to visit its historic Dzong and National Museum. Because Haa Valley is a restricted region, our local team handles 100% of the special route permits, Sustainable Development Fees (SDF), and provides a highly experienced TCB-certified guide to ensure your trip is perfectly safe, authentic, and memorable.

Special Permits & Certified Local Guides

Visiting the pristine Haa Valley requires special restricted area permits. We guarantee seamless processing of all necessary government permits and SDF transparently, while providing senior TCB-certified guides for deep cultural insights.

Frequently Asked Questions

Haa Valley was opened to tourists only in 2002. It remains one of the most untouched, serene, and least crowded valleys in Bhutan. It offers a perfect blend of high-altitude scenery (Chele La Pass) and deep-rooted ancient culture, making it ideal for a quick, unique getaway.

Because this is a short 3-day itinerary focused on Haa Valley, Tiger's Nest is not included by default to avoid rushing. However, if you have a late departure flight on Day 3, we can customize the tour to include the hike upon request.

Yes, Haa Valley is considered a restricted area due to its proximity to the border. However, you don't need to worry. Our expert team will process all the required special route permits along with your standard E-Permit well before your arrival.

The SDF is a daily levy mandated by the Royal Government of Bhutan to fund healthcare, education, and infrastructure. This fee is fully included and transparently processed as part of your package quotation.

At nearly 4,000 meters, Chele La Pass can be quite chilly and windy, even in summer. We highly recommend carrying a warm jacket, windcheater, and comfortable walking shoes for this excursion.
