Tour Overview
Kerala comes alive during the monsoon season. The backwaters swell, the tea gardens turn an impossible shade of green, and the waterfalls roar with unparalleled majesty. Our 05 Nights / 06 Days Monsoon Special Kerala Tour Package is expertly designed to help you experience this magical season in the safest and most rejuvenating way possible.
Your rain-washed retreat begins with a drive to the majestic Athirappilly Waterfalls, famously known as the 'Niagara of India'. Seeing this 80-foot waterfall in full force during the monsoon is a truly awe-inspiring experience. From there, we ascend into the misty hills of Munnar. Enjoying a hot cup of local tea while watching the clouds roll over the manicured tea estates is a memory you will cherish forever.
The monsoon is traditionally the best time for Ayurvedic treatments, as the cool, moist air opens up the body's pores, making therapies highly effective. Therefore, the tour takes you to a premium lakeside resort in Kumarakom for ultimate relaxation and wellness. The journey concludes with a cozy exploration of the colonial heritage and quaint cafes of Fort Kochi before your departure.

Traveling in the rain requires local expertise. We intentionally skip houseboat overnight stays in this itinerary, as heavy monsoon winds can make cruising uncomfortable or restricted. Instead, we provide luxury lakeside resorts in Kumarakom for a safer, more luxurious backwater experience. Our drivers are highly trained for safe hill driving during the rains.

Begin your monsoon retreat with a scenic drive towards Athirappilly (approx. 70 km / 2 hrs). Upon reaching, check into your resort. Later, visit the spectacular Athirappilly Waterfalls. Return to your resort and enjoy the sounds of the rain and forest. Overnight stay in Athirappilly.
After a hearty breakfast, check out and embark on a highly scenic drive ascending into the misty hills of Munnar (approx. 130 km / 4 hrs). During the monsoon, the Western Ghats turn incredibly lush and vibrant. En route, we will stop to admire the cascading Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls, which are in full flow during this time. Upon reaching Munnar, check into your hill resort. Spend a peaceful evening relaxing, sipping hot local tea, and watching the clouds roll over the mountains. Overnight stay in Munnar.

Visit the Tata Tea Museum to learn about the history of tea processing and enjoy a warm cup of freshly brewed tea. Proceed to the scenic Mattupetty Dam and the beautiful Kundala Lake. If the weather permits and the park is open, visit the Eravikulam National Park (Rajamalai) to spot the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Return to your hotel and enjoy a cozy evening indoors. Since monsoon is the best season for Ayurveda, we highly recommend indulging in a traditional Ayurvedic massage or wellness therapy at your resort. Spend the evening enjoying the backwater breeze from the comfort of your room or resort deck. Overnight stay in Kumarakom.
After a relaxed breakfast, check out from the resort and drive back to the vibrant coastal city of Cochin (approx. 50 km / 1.5 hrs). Check into your city or heritage hotel.
