Your journey begins in Leh (11,500 ft), where you will spend the first day strictly resting to acclimatize to the high altitude. Once ready, the expedition takes you over the legendary Khardung La Pass into the spectacular Nubra Valley to experience double-humped camel rides. Following the rugged Shyok river route, you will arrive at the mesmerizing, color-changing waters of Pangong Lake, before returning to Leh.

The second phase of the adventure truly kicks off as you drive along the Srinagar-Leh highway. Welcome to the Roof of the World! Upon your arrival at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport (IXL) in Leh, our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Since you are arriving at an altitude of 11,500 feet, it is strictly advised to spend the entire day resting to acclimatize to the low oxygen levels.

After an early breakfast, check out from your camp and embark on a stunning drive directly to Pangong Tso (approx. 160 km / 5-6 hrs). Instead of going back to Leh, we take the offbeat and ruggedly beautiful route running parallel to the Shyok River.

Frequently Asked Questions

Since you are flying directly into Leh (11,500 ft), Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) is a real risk. It is crucial to rest entirely on Day 1, drink plenty of water (stay hydrated), and avoid alcohol/smoking. Consult your doctor regarding Diamox before travel. We always carry emergency oxygen in our vehicles for the high passes.

The Leh-Srinagar highway usually opens from late May to October. The best time to complete this road trip is from June to September when the snow is cleared from Zoji La pass and the weather is relatively pleasant.

In Ladakh and Kashmir, ONLY POSTPAID connections (mainly Jio, Airtel, and BSNL) work. Prepaid connections from outside J&K/Ladakh will not function. In remote areas like Pangong, network connectivity will be extremely poor or zero.

No. Inner Line Permits (ILP) are required to visit restricted areas like Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake in Ladakh. We proactively process and acquire these permits for you prior to your arrival. All you need to do is provide your valid ID proofs during the booking process.
