The adventure kicks off at Jim Corbett National Park, the oldest national park in India. Here, you will stay in a premium jungle resort and embark on thrilling open Jeep Safaris through dense Sal forests, scanning the undergrowth for the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger, wild elephants, and leopards.

From the plains of Corbett, the journey ascends to the highly protected and serene oak forests of the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. Known as a haven for over 200 species of birds, Binsar offers peaceful nature walks and a spectacular 300-km panoramic view of the Himalayas from Zero Point. The tour concludes with a relaxing halt in the lake district of Nainital, where you can explore the bird-rich trails of nearby Pangot or simply enjoy a quiet boat ride before heading back to Delhi.

6 Days Detailed Itinerary

Your wilderness adventure begins in Delhi. Our representative will pick you up and drive you towards the terai region of Uttarakhand. En route, watch the landscape change from bustling cities to quiet agricultural lands, eventually giving way to the dense Sal forests of Jim Corbett.

Afternoon/Evening Activities:

  • Jungle Resort Check-in: Arrive by the afternoon and check into your wildlife resort situated near the Kosi River.
  • Nature Walk: Step out for a guided evening nature walk along the riverbanks to identify local flora and spot early evening birdlife.
  • Corbett Museum: (Optional) Visit the museum at Dhangarhi gate to learn about the history of the park and the legacy of Jim Corbett.

Return to your resort for a warm dinner and rest up for an early morning start. Overnight stay in Corbett.

Today is dedicated entirely to the wild. Wake up before dawn (around 5:30 AM) to board your open 4x4 Gypsy.

Wildlife Highlights:

  • Morning Safari: Enter one of the premium core zones (Bijrani, Jhirna, or Dhela). Accompanied by an expert naturalist, track pugmarks and listen to alarm calls in search of the Royal Bengal Tiger, wild elephants, and leopards.

Return to the resort for a heavy breakfast and relaxation. Post lunch, you can opt for an afternoon safari in a different zone or visit the beautiful Garjiya Devi Temple situated on a rock in the river. Overnight stay in Corbett.

After breakfast, check out from the resort. We begin our ascent into the Kumaon Himalayas, transitioning from the hot plains to the cool, dense oak and rhododendron forests of Binsar.

  • Binsar Entry: Binsar is a highly protected area with limited vehicular movement, making it one of the quietest places in the Himalayas.
  • Forest Retreat: Check into your eco-resort located inside or right on the periphery of the sanctuary. Enjoy the absolute silence broken only by bird songs.

Spend the evening relaxing at your resort, acclimatizing to the crisp mountain air. Overnight stay in Binsar.

Wake up to a refreshing morning. Today we explore the depths of the sanctuary on foot, as walking is the best way to experience Binsar's rich biodiversity.

Exploration Details:

  • Birding Walk: Accompanied by a local guide, walk through the trails spotting Himalayan woodpeckers, forktails, and laughingthrushes. You might also spot barking deer or Himalayan pine martens.
  • Zero Point Trek: A gentle 2 km trek takes you to the highest vantage point in the sanctuary. It offers a majestic, 300-km wide, uninterrupted view of Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi, Kedarnath, Shivling, and Trishul.

Return to your resort for lunch. In the afternoon, you can optionally visit the ancient Kasar Devi Temple or the Chitai Golu Devta temple nearby. Overnight stay in Binsar.

After breakfast, we check out from Binsar and drive towards the famous lake district of Nainital. To keep the nature theme intact, guests have the option to stay in the quiet, bird-rich village of Pangot (just 15 km from Nainital) or near the main Naini Lake.

Evening Highlights:

  • Kilbury Bird Sanctuary (If staying in Pangot): Spend the afternoon spotting pheasants and minlas in this tranquil forested area.
  • Naini Lake: Enjoy a peaceful evening boat ride on the emerald waters of Naini Lake.
  • Mall Road: Take a leisurely stroll along the Mall Road for some local shopping and dinner.

Enjoy your final breakfast amidst the hills. After checking out, we begin our comfortable descent back to the plains. You will be dropped off at the Delhi Airport / Railway Station / your home by the evening, bringing your spectacular wildlife and nature expedition to a beautiful end.

Frequently Asked Questions

The ideal time is from mid-November to mid-June. The core zones of Jim Corbett open in November. For bird watching in Binsar and Pangot, the spring months (March to May) and early winter (November-December) are spectacular.

No wildlife sightings, especially tigers, can be 100% guaranteed in their natural habitat. However, Jim Corbett has one of the highest tiger densities in India. Our experienced naturalists know the terrain and tracking techniques to give you the highest possible chance of a sighting.

Wear dull, earthy colors like olive green, brown, or khaki to blend in with the forest. Avoid bright colors (red, yellow). Mornings in the open jeep can be very cold, so carry layers (jackets, windcheaters). Don't forget your binoculars, camera, and a sun hat!

Binsar is an eco-sensitive zone where vehicle movement is restricted. To reach the famous 'Zero Point' viewpoint, you will need to take a gentle, scenic walk of about 2 km through the forest. It is an easy walk suitable for all age groups.
